If consent was given, how do I still have a case?
When a person consents to a procedure, he or she is allowing the doctor to perform the specified procedure.
This does not give the doctor permission to make mistakes or excuse errors or negligence should they
occur. It means that the patient cannot later sue for being subjected to surgery. This does not preclude
cases based on negligence, since they allege different things.
