Are doctors required to wash their hands even when they wear gloves?
Doctors should wash their hands frequently in order to prevent spreading infection. Not only should they be washing their hands in between seeing patients, but they should also wash their hands in between touching different areas on a single patient’s body. A 2004 study found that only 57% of doctors washed their hands in between patients, which greatly increases the spread of illness and infection.
