The family of a man who died after surgery, has been awarded a $1 million in a hospital negligence settlement by a jury.
Their suit alleged that the father who underwent quadruple bypass surgery, but was not put on potassium tablets immediately following surgery although he was placed in a telemetry unit and was being monitored for his heart.
His family members are claiming that as a result of this, their father loss brain functioning and died. After one hour of deliberation, the jury awarded the family $1 million.
