Trust and Medical Professionals

Posted on August 5th, 2009 No Comments

For the health care system to work, patients must be able to put a certain amount of trust in their medical caretakers. Unfortunately, some medical professionals make that trust more difficult by taking actions that go against normal medical procedure.

In these situations, the medical professionals are negligent in their action, and should be held accountable for it. Doing this can improve medical care by creating an incentive to not take negligent action that can seriously injure or kill a patient.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of medical negligence, contact the Philadelphia medical malpractice attorneys of Lowenthal & Abrams at 215-329-3511.

Doctor Fails to Inform Parents of Danger

Posted on August 3rd, 2009 No Comments

In Frederick, Maryland, a doctor failed to inform a woman of the danger involved in a vacuum delivery while she was delivering her first son. Two days after the July 5, 2005 delivery, the child died from complications.

Had the doctor given the parents all the information, they likely would have waited to do an emergency C section. Instead, however, the doctor's negligence led to the death of the child.

If you or someone you know has been injured by a doctor's negligence, contact the Philadelphia failure to inform attorneys of Lowenthal & Abrams at 215-329-3511.
