The Arizona Senate has passed legislation that would make it more difficult to sue emergency medical providers for malpractice. The bill will now go on to the House for approval.
The legislation proposes raising the required burden of proof on patients who bring negligence claims against emergency medical services. Similar legislation has been vetoed in 2006 and did not pass the House in 2007.
