A newborn at the Boston Medical Center is lucky to be alive after a medical mistake. The newborn baby girl was accidentally given a large dose of morphine. The dose of morphine was nearly three times greater than the proper dosage. This overdose of medicine could of had fatal consequences, but luckily the baby did not die from the incident.
The parents of the baby are very upset at the incident. The hospital has apologized for the mistake, claiming that it was just a single instance of a break down in the procedure. The parents have said that although they were given an apology, it doesn't take away from the fact that their new born was almost killed by a preventable accident.
